¡Hola! I am happy to be starting my 4th year teaching Spanish here at Saint Rose. I formerly taught at Oakland High School for 6 years, where I had the privilege to teach many SRS alumni. I grew up on Long Island and began college at St. Joseph's. I moved to Murfreesboro when I was 20, and graduated from MTSU in 2006, majoring in education and Spanish. My minor was in Linguistic Studies. I have a love for foreign languages (mainly Spanish & Italian) and learning about the different cultures of the world! In the summer of 2007, I had the opportunity to travel to and study in Spain. It was such a phenomenal experience and I highly encourage my students to study abroad while in college!
My husband, Brian, & I have a son, Brady, and a daughter named Isabella, whom we call Belle. We are huge Disney fans! We love watching movies together, going for walks around the neighborhood, and bike riding.
In addition to teaching Spanish classes at SRS, I am also the head coach of the majorettes. I began baton twirling when I was 6 years old and competed at the state, regional, and national level for a total of 16 years. I am a certified coach and former judge through the United States Twirling Association. Once I left NY, I began twirling at MTSU for the biggest, loudest, funkiest band...the Band of Blue! I was co-captain of the Raiderettes my senior year. Twirling is a sport and an art that I have long had a passion for and it makes my heart so happy to share it with our girls here at St. Rose!
I love being a part of the faculty here at Saint Rose because everyone is so supportive of one another! It is so much fun to share my love of not only the Spanish language, but the culture as well...Día de los Muertos, Las Posadas, and so much more! I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to teach our St. Rose Stars!
